Why Punchero exists

Punchero started from a very simple need:
I wanted to understand my own working hours.

Not for specific projects.
Not for client invoices.
Not for anyone else.

Simply to know:
How much am I really working?

Especially with flexitime or hybrid work, there is often no transparent system employees can access themselves. You work, you come and go, you trust—and in the end you only have a feeling.

I wanted more than a feeling. I wanted a clear picture.

The problem many people know

There are countless time-tracking tools. Most target companies, agencies, or freelancers. They are complex, project-based, feature-heavy—and rarely easy to automate.

For individuals, or for my purpose specifically, they are often oversized. Or they demand constant manual input, send reminders, and drain your phone battery.

That is exactly what I did not want.

I wanted a system that runs in the background. Without thinking about it every day. Without project management. Without unnecessary features.

A personal work log with your own overview. Documentation for when you might need it.

How Punchero came about

Punchero began as a small side project for myself—a tool to record my hours automatically.

Over time it became clear: I was not the only one with this problem.

Many people want a simple way to log their working hours privately—for orientation, self-check, or comparison with internal systems.

So it did not stay a personal solution. Punchero was born.

What Punchero deliberately does differently

Automation instead of discipline

Time tracking should not be a daily chore. Punchero can be set up so hours are captured automatically. Once configured, it runs in the background. You do not have to remember or “maintain” anything—you just get an overview.

Private means truly private

Punchero respects your privacy. No profiling, no real-name requirement, no hidden analytics. Only what your time tracking needs is stored—nothing more. That is not marketing—it is a principle.

Data handling aligned with GDPR

Punchero uses minimal data, is developed in Germany, and is operated in France. Privacy matters and is part of the architecture.

100% personal support

Punchero is not an anonymous corporate service. Every line of code, every feature, every message comes from one person. Feel free to reach out.

Who Punchero is for

Punchero is for people like you and me:

  • Employees with flexitime / trust-based hours
  • People without access to internal time systems
  • Anyone who simply wants to know how much they work
  • Anyone who needs independent time tracking

It is not project management. It is not billing. It is a personal work-time log.

Why I do this

Because time is personal.

Because I have seen how quickly you lose touch with your own performance.

Because I believe transparency matters—for employers and employees.

Punchero came from my own need and is meant to help others with the same needs.

Who is behind Punchero

Behind Punchero is me—Christopher Krause—an enthusiastic, experienced solo entrepreneur from Cologne.

I develop and run the project on my own, with the goal of providing an honest, lean, reliable tool.

No big marketing. No investors. No business selling your data.

Simply a tool that does its job.
